Machine engraving
R.H. Wilkins machine department is equipped with traditional pantograph machines as well as utilizing the latest in C.A.D. engraving technology. This new technology combined with our existing expertise as hand engravers gives us the advantage over our competitors to create perfectly proportioned inscriptions and fine tune artwork to achieve optimum results whatever the size. It requires a high degree of skill to operate the manual pantograph machine and the quality of engraving is exceptional. We use tungsten carbide cutters, which removes the material giving greater depth, ideal for watch backs and items that will receive alot of wear. We also use diamond tipped cutters that displaces the material giving the cut sparkle and clarity, which are the hallmarks of diamond engraving. Machine engraving is suitable for engraving most items from the smallest watch backs up to 14" diameter trophy cups in silver-plate, aluminium, stainless steel, brass, copper, bronze and precious metals such as platinum, gold and silver.
